Ladies & gentleman, I present to you the Underground Literary Alliance, that band of uber-democratic, bottom-up, free 'n easy troublemakers who don't want any troublemakin' or public scrutiny of any kind. Y'see, it only works when they can lash out at those they dislike with impunity. It's not fun, otherwise. After they finish marking McSweeney's and mousy New Yorker interns as the harbinger of Satan's presence on earth, if anyone dares to say anything about their worthless writing, they plop down, pout, and sniffle: "Why me? I'm the sympathetic underdog!"

Lack of any discernable talent, of course, making one the ultimate underdog, I suppose, so at least they got that part right.
